Target Deals

Yesterday I went to target and got a few deals. I got a bunch of other stuff too so not a great total.
I got the 2 bags of m&m and used a target coupon and a mfg coupon also got a free target reuseable bag!
also got the free chex mix. used the $1 target coupon and purchased the chex mix by the register that was .99
I also got the Caseit binder to organize my coupons on clearance for 4.98 it's regularly $18

More-Kmart Doubling Coupons This Week

I went back to Kmart but I don't think I'll go again even though I really want too. The one closest to me that is participating is at sunrise a little far. I was really on the hunt for free or very close to free items. It was good though
I spent $6.4 including tax and got
2 tide pens (that totally threw off my balance I thought they would be 2 something and it was 3.59 what a rip off they were 2.79 at Target) I paid 1.59 for them. Should have read Kelly's blog first.
I got 2 packs of sharpies for .19ea
2 tubs of huggies baby wipes for free
2 packages of scotts pop up tape dispensers for free
Juicy Juice .50
Crest toothpaste for kids (thanks Kelly) .39 ea

Organic vs. regular cleaners

I have to say I try and use all chemical free organic cleaning products especially while pregnant but they just don't clean the same. Does anyone else have this problem? I got all these new cleaning products for cheap and boy do they clean. If I use organic on my toilets I get a ring around them after 6 days. With anything else I have never gotten a ring even after 2 weeks which is the longest I've gone without scrubbing them. Also the regular laundry soap seams to work much better. I am loving how clean everything is. Is there a happy medium I can find or have you found?

Kmart

Okay I had to go get the $.50 wheat thins.
Total dryer sheets $1.00
Scrubby pads $.75
I tried the total dryer sheets and love them. I was not a fan of the bounce bar. I thought it had a funny smell and it didn't last very long.

Safeway again

I got all this for $3.75. 7 items 87% savings. I had to run out so I decided to use all my catalina coupons. I used the $3.00 off I got today and I had 2 free Capri suns from that last promo. Somehow I had some e coupons on my card I guess I uploaded them. I had 1 for $.55 off Capri suns which were free so I made money and I don't know what the other 1 was for. I might have a shopping addiction now. I am really having fun at these great deals.

Safeway 9/30

I saw on a thrifty mom the Kleenex deal. I bought 3 for $.99 and used the blinkie coupon at the store for $.50 off the 3 and got a catalina coupon for $3.00 off my next shopping trip. I also got chicken for $.99 a pound so $5.00 for all that chicken. I use to only use boneless skinless but I have been trying to save money so I use this for all our meals with chicken in it like enchiladas, chicken and rice. The chicken is so much better more moist or something so I am a big fan. The cheese has a coupon in the add for $4.99. Kellogs cereal is buy 5 for $1.50 each but that was too much for me I am now use to it for a dollar or less. Maybe I'll use my catalina coupon for that.

Kmart Doubling Coupons This Week

I can't find my receipt for kmart and I can't remember everything I bought at the moment but here's the low down.
I know I spent 16 out of pocket and saved 17
2 wheat thin crackers for .50
2 nabisco 100 cal snack pack .50 ea
2 mr clean magic erasers
mens gilette body wash .60
2 pringles .50ea
2 clean and clear face wash .60

Drug Store Shopping

I went to Walgreens and Rite Aid today.
Walgreens I had to do in two transactions because aparently you can't get two register rewards at a time when you are buying more than one of the same thing. Also with the register rewards you can't use them exactly like cash, because you can't use more coupons/register rewards than items you have. I'm still learning here.

herbal essence shampoo 2.99 and they had a 2.00 rr so they were .99 and I paid with a $2 rr I had so I paid 1.25 out of pocket and got a $2 rr

I also got an oral b advantage toothbrush for $3 but they were out of the ones that had the register reward so they gave me a two pack instead : ) I had a coupon for .75 off making them 2.25 I paid with another $2 rr and my total was 3.76 plus I got $5 back in rr so all in all I paid $5.01 out of pocket and got $7 back in rr

At Rite Aid I bought 2 Head and Shoulders shampoo on sale for 3.99 ea which Bill likes to use. I had 2 $1 off coupons so I got them for $2.99 each. Then I got crest toothpaste on sale for 2.69 and had a $1 coupon making it 1.69 plus there is a single check rebate for 2.69 so I get that one for free plus $1 overage

Kmart doubling

I dropped my kids off and quickly went to see if my Kmart was doubling because Rachel texted me to let my know and I called and of course they've never heard of it. I looks like no limit or purchase amount required. This is my first trip.I spent $11.00
Here is the list of prices after my coupons which were all from Sunday papers
Cascade $2.50
Scrubby Pads $.79
409 $.50
Zout $1.90
Crest $.39
Dove $1.00
Tide to go $1.59
Junior mints no coupon Jace had to have them. $1.25
My friend Keri wanted to go score some deals so I took another trip with her and shared some of my coupons. I used all Sunday paper insert coupons. I spent $6.00.
Oxyclean $1.50
Crystal light 2 $.75 each
Lysol $2.00
Bliss chocolate buy one get one free not sure how they doubled it.

Ace wanted to come with me to score more deals. I spent $6.13. I got all the coupons from Sunday paper insert except suave I printed it online.
Lady speed stick $.50
2 Right guard $.25 each ( probaly my best deal, on sale $2.49 buy 1 get 1 free and $1 off double)
2 Ziploc bags $1.00 each
2 Crystal light $.75
2 Suave $.50 each I am a hairstylist so I have always bought shampoo at the beauty supply but Jake goes through it like crazy so this is my first time buying cheap shampoo. How come I never thought of this before?
I am becoming a fan of Kmart and this double coupon thing. When we were in Tahoe I picked up a Sunday paper there and in Santa Cruz I picked up a Sunday paper there and the adds were a little different than my Mom's paper. Ace and I really need to subscribe. In case you look at other blogs and wonder as I do when they put where they got the coupon and I got that paper and didn't get the coupon that's why. Even when I get 2 different papers they sometimes have different coupons. Crazy fun!

Kmart Doubling Coupons This Week

Kmart is doubling coupons this week, but not all stores are. I called the closest store to me and they were not doubling stores but another store I called was.
Good luck.

Kids love to coupon

Kelly's story about the kids wanting coupons for toys reminded me of what Meghan did the other day so I thought I'd share. Meghan got the Toys R Us ad out and cut out things she wanted. She was calling them her coupons and she ask me when we were going to buy all the stuff she wanted with her coupons. I wondering if she things coupons are money to get stuff we want? It was cute anyways. Are we teaching some life lessons possibly?

Raleys/ Belair diaper deals

Huggies diapers and pull up are on sale for $7.99 each. I printed coupons for $3.00 of pure and natural and $2.00 of the rest, my mother in law printed some too as I printed my limit. So I got each pack of diaper for $4.99 or $5.99. Which was cheaper than buying in bulk and I love the variety.

Couponing (Is that a word?)

I am loving saving all this money. Ace is even really into this. Jake and Josh love to go shopping and see how much we save. Jace loves to hand my coupons over although he wishes I could get coupons for toys. I am also loving to try new brands. I have always been a huggies for diapers, mentadent toothpaste, ecos laundry soap, cascade tabs dishwasher soap an so forth type of gal. I am so excited to try all the new brands I've been buying with coupons and saving.

cvs pharmacy

I got all this for $10.17. I had coupons for everything and everything was on sale. I also got $2.00 extra bucks back to use on my next trip. Jake and Josh each ate a candy bar before I could take my picture so I had a total of 17 items. I guess Rachel and I were thinking alike today with our drug store trips. I am going to try Walgreen's next.

Purees

I love to add more fruits and veggies to our food. Today I made chili and I added these butternut squash and beets.
I add cauliflower to mac n cheese, chicken and rice anything light or white colored. I add spinach or kale to all our ground turkey or hamburger like for tacos, meat balls, meat loaf. I just puree them and keep them in my freezer and dump them in whatever we're having. I like to keep beets, kale, spinach, sweet potatoes, squash and cauliflower in the freezer.

Pretzel Treats

Last year for a presentation for Josh's class. He had to demonstrate a 5 step project. He chose these pretzel teats. He did the demonstration at school and made some treats to bring.
First step is to preheat oven to 170 degrees. Then put bite size waffle shaped pretzels on a cookie sheet. Top with an unwrapped Hersey kiss or hug.
Next put in the oven and bake for 4-6 minutes.
Remove cookie sheet quickly press an m&m candy in the center.

Allow treats to cool for a few minutes then put in fridge for 10 minutes to set.

Finally enjoy! My kids loved these and so did Josh's class.

Bacon wrapped chiken

Here's what we did with some of the bacon that was on sale last week at Safeway.

I marinated the chicken in chaka's sauce
Then wrapped it up in bacon
Cook at 350 for 35 minutes. To make the bacon crispier I broiled it for 2 minutes. Everything tastes better with bacon. We use it sparingly in this house and totally enjoy it.

Costco

I went to Costco today to stock up on diapers and formula. I looked around at everything and couldn't even bye anything else. Now with sales and coupons Costco is so much more even in bulk. I don't even think I'm going to renew my membership. I wish I could get formula or diaper coupons if anyone knows where to get them let me know. I am not complaining about the cost as Ace and I laugh at people when they say how much diapers and formula cost. Kids cost WAY more as they get older especially sports and medical issues and we're not even paying for college yet. Is their anything at coscto you guys feel is a good deal that I would need to keep my membership.

Good deal on books

If your kids have AR goals at school they have to meet it is hard to keep finding books they haven't quizzed on. We spend so much money at the book stores. I try and save money at D.I. and get used books but the selection sometimes isn't the best. Yesterday I found a used bookstore in Roseville. You can trade in your used books and buy more books. I wish someone would have tipped me off to this years ago. Yesterday I went through our book shelves and traded in all the double books. I love books and certain collections so I couldn't part with any of our other books but we had many doubles I had bought in sets and so forth. I got the kids lots of new to them books for free. If only I could have always been this frugal.
